Elfego Baca Golf Shoot
Rules

All entrants, spotters and scorekeepers must be at the New Mexico Tech Driving Range by 06:00 AM, organized and ready to leave for the trip to the top of the “M” Mountain.

Transportation will be provided. All vehicles will travel as a group to the top of the mountain. Priority for transportation will be given to entrants and scorekeepers. A maximum of three spotters will be allowed for each entrant.

Entrants and spotters must be 18 years of age. Each entrant will be furnished with ten golf balls, which will be marked for identification. Only these balls can be used and the entrant must finish the event with one of these balls. Entrants will be assigned an official scorekeeper to keep their score. The scorekeeper will stay with the entrant at all times and will not serve as a spotter. Entrants must provide their own spotters.

The ball can be placed on a tee, or other material, for all shots. To improve your position the ball may be moved laterally or away from the hole approximately 50 feet, but the ball may not be moved closer to the hole. A one-stroke penalty will be given for each lost ball. Low gross plus the number of lost balls determines the winner.

Entrants must be in good health for this event. Tournament chairman will determine health qualifications if necessary. All individuals walking down the mountain must carry at least two bottles of water with them. Please bring a method to carry the bottles.

SUGGESTIONS: Carry water, a broom with a short handle or a piece of rug to tee up the ball; only bring a few old clubs, good walking shoes, hat, long sleeves and pants for protections against gnats & cacti.
